Garden

Proudly partnering with Farmscape, an organization dedicated to urban agriculture, STEM’s chefs continually collaborate with Farmscape farmers to determine what is grown in the garden.

Dedicated and experienced farmers oversee the planting, growing, and harvesting of the produce, freeing up the chefs to do what they do best – create delicious menu items that feature produce grown a tomato’s throw away.

Healthy Kids Starting in August at the STEM Garden

Join Chef Ian and the STEM team as we turn our garden into a hands-on cooking class, demonstrating how whole fruits and vegetables can be transformed into a meal through activities in healthy eating and cooking. Kids might start with a fruit and vegetable name game before moving on to a tasting exploration of seasonal produce. Then, the group uses kid-safe kitchen utensils for a guided hands-on cooking experience, making recipes such as fruit smoothies and pizzas topped with garden-fresh vegetables. Classes will be hosted outdoors in the garden with weather permitting. These Saturday workshops are recommended for children ages 6-10 years old, but space is limited so be sure to register your child in advance:

Parents are welcome to accompany their child during the program, or they can leave them with us and enjoy a bite to eat or beverage in our restaurant, but are required to stay on the property. Healthy Kids in the Bon Appétit Kitchen is Bon Appétit’s companywide nutrition and culinary education program, created with the goal of educating and empowering children to make healthy food choices for themselves and their communities.

Stay tuned for more information and the dates of our 2022 Healthy Kids classes.
